The rubber grommet is used to cover the rough and sharp edges of a panel hole. Rubber grommets grip wires and cables that pass through the hole, keeping them secure while protecting them from abrasions, cuts and snags. At the same time, they also protect wires and cables from liquid and dust ingress.
We supply a wide range of rubber and PVC grommets: open, blind and semi-blind.
Grommets are useful in electronics applications when a wire or tube needs to pass through metal or another material that may cause damage. Most commonly, they protect cables from sharp corners and edges.
We offer standard EPDM grommets for insulation, it is a polymer with outstanding properties. It has exceptionally good weather aging and ozone resistance; excellent water and chemical resistance; excellent resistance to gas permeability, and excellent resistance to aging due to exposure to steam; and heat, resistance excellent up to 350°F.
Certification and Specifications
All Rubber grommet must meet certain classes of ASTM C1619, depending on the specifications for a project. Generally, sanitary projects will require C1619 Class A (standard rubber) or B (oil-resistant rubber) and stormwater projects will reference C1619 Class C (standard) or D (oil-resistant).
