Rubber P seals derive their name from their distinctive shape that features a hollow bulb resembling the letter P. Although these sections are manufactured from solid rubber materials, the hollow centre allows the seal to easily compress and create a reliable watertight seal. They are commonly used to seal hatches, doors and flood gates, as well as piping between panels on cars to stop the different components from making contact with each other.
These seals are available in a selection of sizes with different sealing bulbs and flanges. The simplistic shape of this extrusion allows rubber P seals to be bonded onto most clean flat surfaces using a good quality contact adhesive. The flange length can also be extended or thickened using a solid neoprene strip.
We manufacture these products from EPDM which has a good resistance to water, chemicals and the effects of weathering. This allows these sections to be used in outdoor environments that may be subjected to extreme weather conditions and temperatures. We do not recommend that you use EPDM for applications that may come into contact with fuel or oil.
Certification and Specifications
All concrete pipe gaskets must meet certain classes of ASTM C1619, depending on the specifications for a project. Generally, sanitary projects will require C1619 Class A (standard rubber) or B (oil-resistant rubber) and stormwater projects will reference C1619 Class C (standard) or D (oil-resistant).
Our factory has been ISO 9001 certified since 2005. In subsequent years, we have successively obtained ISO 14001, CE, EN 681 and SGS certifications, as well as other internationally recognized qualifications.
